LATITUDE SAUNA
2010

The cabin, made of weathered grey laminated timber, typical of the local constructions techniques, allows a geological shape to the cabin, so that it blends in with the surrounding cliffs, called 'svalbard'.

The translucent skylights, made of pv panels, follow the sun path, underlining the crystalliized formation of the cabin. The dwelling is further tied to the rocks by an entry stairway leading from the second floor to the top of the cliff. The cabin is used only in july, and supplies its own power for that month.
