Photovoltaic Barn
Long Island, NY 2021
This eco-house combines principles of passive design while integrating into the landscape. The green facades and roof merge the building into green surroundings, while the big-format windows, oriented to the south for thermal solar gain in winters, provide a visual connection with the surroundings. The walls made out of local cedar wood follow the LEED standards for material extraction. And the photovoltaic translucent grey glass solar roof makes this project energetically autonomous (off-the-grid) using only clean energy.
